A day with us
Days are gentle and unhurried — built around each resident's pace, not a clock.
A quiet wake-up routine, fresh coffee in the sunroom, and a home-cooked breakfast around the table.
Light stretching, a walk in the garden, or one-on-one time with a caregiver.
Everyone gathers for a warm meal, conversation, and a relaxed pace.
Music, crafts, reading, or a quiet nap — whatever the day calls for.
Dinner together, a favorite show, or a visit on the porch with family.
A calm bedtime routine with awake caregivers on hand if anything is needed.

Our story
Serenity Oaks was founded by Minnesota caregivers and family members who believed assisted living should feel less like a facility and more like a home. From the meals we prepare to the quiet evenings on the porch, every detail is designed around comfort, dignity, and connection.

Standards of care
Warmth and clinical excellence are not opposites. Behind every shared meal and quiet evening is a structured framework of assessment, training, and oversight.
Each resident receives a comprehensive nursing assessment and an individualized service plan, reviewed at admission, after any change in condition, and at minimum every 90 days.
Medications are managed under registered-nurse delegation, with documented administration, monthly reconciliation, and direct coordination with each resident's pharmacy and providers.
We follow current infection prevention standards — hand hygiene, PPE protocols, environmental cleaning, and clear procedures during respiratory or GI illness.
All direct-care staff complete a background study, orientation, and ongoing competency training in dementia care, safe transfers, fall prevention, and resident rights.
Our team is trained in person-centered dementia approaches — predictable routines, validating communication, environmental cues, and de-escalation rather than restraint.
Designated representatives receive timely updates on changes in condition, falls or incidents, hospitalizations, and any modification to the written service plan.
Is it time?
Many families wait until a fall or hospital stay before exploring options — which makes the move harder for everyone. If you're noticing a few of the changes below, it's a good moment to start the conversation.
Not sure where to start?
Our team will walk you through a free, no-pressure care conversation — by phone or in person.
Talk with our teamCosts & payment
Cost is one of the first questions every family asks — and one we answer plainly. Pricing depends on the level of care, room type, and any waiver coverage. We'll give you a written quote before you ever commit.
A flat monthly rate that includes room, board, meals, and a personalized level of care. No surprise add-ons.
For income-qualifying Minnesotans 65+ on Medical Assistance. We coordinate directly with your case manager.
We accept the CADI and Developmental Disabilities waivers for adults under 65 who meet eligibility.
Eligible veterans and surviving spouses may use VA Aid & Attendance benefits to help offset monthly costs.
Choosing a community
Touring assisted living homes can feel overwhelming. Here's what we encourage every family to look at — at any community you visit, including ours.
Does it feel like a home? Are residents engaged? Does the staff greet people by name?
Ask about caregiver-to-resident ratios on each shift, training, and turnover.
How are care plans built, reviewed, and adjusted as needs change?
Who oversees medications? Is there a registered nurse on call? How are emergencies handled?
Look at private rooms, common areas, outdoor access, safety features, and cleanliness.
Try a meal if you can, and review the activity calendar. Variety and choice matter.
